Servicing Your Brakes
At Capital City Subaru serving Manchester, we get asked all the time what goes into a brake service. First and foremost, our team performs routine brake fluid flushes to ensure you have braking power each time you step on the brake pedal. In addition, our team recommends that you service your brake pads once every 50,000 miles, depending on your driving patterns.
One thing to keep in mind with brake pads is noise. If you hear a grinding noise every time you stop, there's a good chance your brake pads need to be replaced. Typically, your brake disc wears more slowly than your brake pads, so it needs replacement after 70 to 80,000 miles. If you feel a vibration or multiple vibrations when coming to a stop, it usually means your brake discs have warped and need replacement. When you bring your vehicle in, one of our service technicians will give your vehicle a thorough inspection of all brake components. Any replacement of brake pads and/or brake discs will come with a brake fluid flush and replacement of your brake pad sensors.
More severe brake maintenance, including the brake master cylinder or brake calipers, requires further diagnosis. Our Capital City service team will keep you apprised of any updates. Plus, when you bring your vehicle to us, we set out a comprehensive service plan for your vehicle, covering everything from oil changes to battery service.
