About Our Partner Shelter
Old Dogs Go To Helen is a New Hampshire-based nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to providing senior, hospice, and special-needs dogs with the love, comfort, and care they deserve during their golden years. Founded by Helen St. Pierre and her family, the organization gives homeless older dogs a safe and nurturing place to live while receiving medical care, specialized treatment, and daily companionship.
Unlike a traditional shelter, Old Dogs Go To Helen focuses on caring for aging dogs that are often overlooked due to age or medical needs. The organization also works with rescues and shelters to support senior dogs across the country, helping provide resources, veterinary care, and increased adoption awareness.
As a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Old Dogs Go To Helen relies on donations and community support to continue its mission of improving the lives of senior dogs and educating others about the rewards of senior pet adoption. Their goal is simple: to ensure every old dog has a soft place to land, plenty of love, and the dignity they deserve throughout their life.

More Ways To LOVE Pets!
Getting involved is easy. We know your phone is full of photos of your furry friends…ours, too. All you have to do is post! Throughout the month of October, post a public photo or video of your pet on Facebook, Instagram, X, or TikTok using the hashtag #SNELovesPets. In celebration of 10 years of helping our furry friends through #SNELovesPets, we're pledging $10 per unique post to give every post more power! Our goal is to hit a total 15,000 (or more!) pet posts using #SNELovesPets, which will ensure each shelter receives $6,250!
For Subaru of New England, this campaign is about more than just raising funds - it's about spreading the word for the animals we love. With your help, we can raise awareness and make sure shelter pets get the care, love, and forever homes they deserve.
How Can You Help?
There are many ways individuals can help animals in need. Here are some impactful actions you can take:Adopt, Don't Shop: Consider adopting a pet from a shelter or rescue organization instead of buying from a breeder or pet store. Volunteer: Offer your time at local animal shelters or rescue groups. Tasks can range from walking dogs to helping with administrative work. Donate: Financial contributions, pet food, supplies, or even old blankets and towels can make a big difference. Foster: Provide a temporary home for animals in need, helping them transition from shelters to permanent homes. Advocate: Raise awareness about animal welfare issues in your community and support legislation that protects animals. Educate: Teach others about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying/neutering pets to control the animal population. Report Abuse: If you witness animal cruelty or neglect, report it to local authorities or animal control. Support Ethical Brands: Choose products from companies that prioritize animal welfare and avoid those that test on animals.
